Hey there lovely people. I hope you’re all having a beautiful day.
We have been taking it real slow around here – I feel like Summer went on for so long, and we went to the beach so much in Summer, and now we have forgotten what we used to do with our lives.
The school holidays were full of home days and paper aeroplanes, budgies and baking. It was lovely, but man I got some cabin fever. It’s the downside of being a homebody, the only downside in my opinion.
I have been creating lots of content for a few sites around the traps and just chipping away at life so without further ado, here is what we have been up to.
Brioche French Toast – my idea of a perfect Mother’s Day breakfast. I created this recipe for Westfield, and you can find it here. Sometimes when I’m making myself breakfast in bed at 1 pm on a Tuesday, I stop and think about how strange my job is. #weirdjoblife
I also created a HUGE Mother’s Day gift guide, I’ll be able to share all the deets soon, but I just had to share this image – how beautiful is it that our kids see things like this every day. When I was a kid ‘loving yourself’ was not a good thing. If someone loved themselves, it was like… What a tool. How could we ever function that way? Good bloody riddance to that.

Making baby fiddle leaf figs! I plan to have a full post about it soon, but for now, I can tell you that this; My fig was long and spindly with not enough leaves for its height, so I cut the top off it. It was so stressful. Bloody princess plants. I ended up cutting the cutting into three pieces and soaking them in water ( because of this crazy blog I read) and now it’s paying off. They are all sprouting roots and so far so good.
If you look closely, you can see the paper aeroplane flying through the picture. I can’t even begin to tell you guys how many I have made these school holidays. And you know when your mum’s into paper craft you’re going to get a good one. Here is the winning tutorial.
Our newest family member Cloudy has been with us for two weeks now. Scout saved every cent she came across for an entire year and bought herself a baby budgie and a cage. One hundred dollars. This child is a tiny powerhouse. A crazy, bird-loving powerhouse.
Other things around the traps
Talking to Tiger Tribe, my favourite toy brand ever had me (and a bunch of awesome ladies) interview my kids for their Mother’s Day feature, it’s pretty funny. Apparently, my favourite food is wine… You can read it here.
Window shopping at Zanui, they have 30% off kids decor.
Collaborating with My Deals had me pick out my favourite items in their current range and created a Patchwork Cactus store. And they are also offering you guys $10 off a minimum $100 spend when they shop using the code patchwork10.
Insta-stalking all the cool kid’s brands in this comment thread. So much goodness.
Eating lots of protein and barely any carbs, because I read this book. Actually, I listened to it.
Obsessing over Etsy’s Mother’s Day gift guides are next level.
