Around Here – Winter days

Just some pictures of our Little Patchwork Life – I hope you enjoy them.

1) Every morning I wake up to this beautiful sight. Pac man leaves early and Squawk splits his time between the cot and my face. But Scout is my nightly pillow thief.

2) Coffee is my true love but tea comes first, before the kids wake up, before life can happen, but not before Instagram.

3) I make the porridge and she does the honey and yogurt. When the fire is cranking, the sun is shining through that window and we are eating porridge I get confused into thinking that Winter just may be my fave. Until I have to leave the house.

4) My favourite Little Tienda Dress and her favourite Elsa dress drying on the line together. My dress is cooler.

5) Boys are gross.

6) How much milk does it take for a two year old to fill a cup? Three litres exactly. Coincidentally the same amount it takes to flood a small kitchen. Really, it's amazing he managed to lift the bottle at all.

7) My wild and 50 percent of the reason I need to start spreading myself thicker.

8) Belly. (insert laughing/crying emoji)

Thanks for reading xoxo Babs

Love these pics. Boys are freaking disgusting!
Yes, I have the same reasons to spread myself thick too. How funny walking away from a blogging conference realising you need to spend less time “blogging”. More a smarter not harder thing.

  • Homemade slushees | orange juice + ice + blended. The kids smash them on a hot afternoon. 👍🏼 (we do get real slushees too, I’m not running a sugar free land of organic lollipops here, my kids are 5 and 7 a that ship has sailed! But it’s nice to keep it natural when we can.) 🛳 👋🏼
  • My friend took this photo of Squawk and I a few years ago. I never shared it because of my double chin. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ hindsight is 20:20 #getthefuckinthepicture #sharetheshitoutofit #proofofmum
  • I was on this Facebook group the other day (Shoutout -LMBDW 🤟🏼) and someone posted about being really tired. She was asking for advice about how everyone handles the exhaustion of life. There were so many people talking about exercise and healthy eating, essential oils and meditation. And that’s all good stuff. But also, it’s not ok to constantly feel crap, but so many of us accept it. I was like, go and get a check up!
So I thought I would pop a reminder up here for you all - Go to an Dr, get a full service and persist if you are unhappy with the outcome.
I just got mine done and if you want to get in sync, I promise I’ll remind you again here in two years time. 🦆

  • I never know if I should post lunchboxes here. it feels a bit weird. Some people on the gram make the most incredible Instagram worthy things and I feel like these are just... lunchboxes 🤷🏻‍♀️ But then I remember that most of us aren’t going to cut things into stars and spend hours of the weekend baking home-made Vegemite scrolls and sometimes it’s really nice to get some new ideas and be like.... oh, twiggy sticks. I should totally pack them. Ya know? #patchworklunchbox (swipe for more or follow the hashtag)
  • 3 years ago today! Still my favorite of all the photos I have ever taken, and it was just snapped on my phone. Today he’s at school instead of passed out naked in a box full of toys. And if that doesn’t perfectly represent how average having to grow up is, I don’t know what does. #squawklife
