Brown paper packages wrapped up with string, is there anything better? I love brown paper wrapping so so so so much it’s actually a bit nuts. But right now I am also super into monochrome and fleuro, and of course, especially when it comes to Christmas; vintage.
So here are my three takes on brown wrapping paper this Christmas, but with a few little tweaks, these could also be lovely birthday gifts.
Monochrome Brown Paper Wrapping
My love for monochrome arrived around the same time as my little boy and I have been having so much fun with it. For this Chrissy gift, I just wrapped it up in brown paper then cut two giant triangles out of black contact and stuck them on the wrapping. I used washi tape for the stripes but you could use ribbon instead. My rule for monochrome is; if you have no colour you need to have texture so I added some pom poms and I think it looks super cute. This gift could be de-Christmas-fied by turning the tree into two separate triangles to give it a geometric look.
Fleuro Confetti Brown Paper Wrapping
I saw this tutorial on BellaMumma and basically lost my banana. Confetti bow, um ok. So I made it (obvs) and then tied it on my gift with hot pink builders line (about $3.95 for a few km from Bunnings) next I popped on some washi tape and used some neon triangle stickers to make Chrissy trees. I got the stickers at Little Paper Lane so that means this gift was basically sponsored by Jayde. But not actually. Again, this gift can be de-Christmas-fied by turning the trees into separate triangles to give it a geometric look.
Vintage Christmas Brown Paper Wrapping
The brown paper and doily combo is my favourite go-to for vintage looking gifts. I got the doilys from Lark last year but they don’t seem to stock them anymore – these ones are cool though. {I just found the same ones here} Topped with bakers twine, it looks like it could have come straight from the fat man himself. How freaking good is Christmas!!!! This gift can be de-Christmas-fied by swapping the Chrissy doilys for plain ones.
