When I first met my other half he used to get around with a cockatiel on his shoulder. True story.
Apparently, when he was a kid he used to ride around on a bike with a budgie on his shoulder. Now we have a daughter who is OBSESSED with drawing birds, ask her for a picture of a bird and she’ll ask what species you would like. So obviously when I spotted this new textiles company Vellaquin in all their Aussie bird glory I was pretty excited.

Full disclosure; the brain mamma behind Vellaquin was once my crazy fun year 8 bestie. We used to get into all sorts of mischief together. She was wild and up for any adventure that came her way and she always knew she would be a designer so every period was spent filling books with beautiful drawings instead of work. I have so many great memories with her, usually climbing something or creating something, dying our hair and pairing plaid skirts with black boots. Good times.
Is there anything better than seeing your childhood friends all grown up doing exactly what they always said they would?
