A bit of overall love

March 4, 2014

18/02/2014

So people, what is the consensus on overalls? I'm a fan, glad they're back, I always knew it would happen, this is why I still have an overall skirt in my wardrobe.*

I don't want to hear about being too old for them, putting age limits on style is as obnoxious as those 'what's in and what's out' columns in magazines. Except for pigtails, age limits apply, if you have to ask just don't, no, seriously. It's. not. just no.

Look, I'm not entirely sure if I can get away with overalls, I'm guessing the fact that there is a serious lack of semi-dumpy chicks wearing them on Pinterest is probably some sort of signifier. I'm choosing to ignore that though. Mostly because I have finally come to the realisation that I am just as entitled to fashion as I was pre babies but also because I really like wine and I really like clothes and I really don't like diets because so many of them don't let you drink wine.

What do you think? About the overalls that is. I think this is something that can be done well by anyone. Will you be rocking them this season?

*by wardrobe I mean 'bag of clothes in the shed that have single digits on the labels'.

**if you want to know the sources of these amazing pictures (how hot is Claire Danes?) check out my Pintetrest board – all the links are there.

Happy tuesday lovers xoxoxo

I love them! I swooned over the shorter version all summer and know I am lustfull over the longer version for winter. Will I buy them? Hmm I am thinking the idea of them may be better than the vision of me in them?

You can Bron! I think better to be an early adopter – so if you feel like you may cave to the overall pull soon then just do it now!

I gotta say, I am a fan of the overalls. Just not on me! Well, actually I don’t know, the last time I wore a pair of overalls I think I was 14 when they were the biggest thing to happen to fashion since Blossom and her hat! But I do think that, styled well (listen to me trying to sound like I know shit!) they can be pretty damn hawt! It’s one fashion look that I don’t mind coming back!

Overalls and eating pants with elastic waists are essential for any sensible wardrobe. Also very useful if you have no teeth and want to hide from the law in the deep south of the good ol’ US of A.

I wore them as a young teen, not for me now, I haven’t the stomach for them, literally, it’s WAY too big – thanks for linking 🙂

I wish I can say I look good in one. I will look like a scare crow. And Amen on the pigtails!
