When your four year old just wants four little things for her party you are officially allowed to do a happy dance.
I hope you had a lovely easter, we did. A planned weekend away to visit the in-laws turned into a weekend at a country NSW hotrod festival and was actually really fun! I got a ride in a car that was made in 1928, that has never happened before.
But the weekend before we had an impromptu combined fourth and sixy-fifth birthday party here. Scout got to pick four things because she is four, and because it's her favourite number.
Strawberry milk, bird cupcakes – made by her, a carrot cake – made by me, and some lollie bags – also made by me.
It was simple and small – just my side of the family. There was take away pizzas, lots of trampoline jumping and some Toy Story viewing.
It's possible we won't get away with so little pomp next year but it was all sorts of perfect this time.

I spy with my little eye my favourite cake topper! I think impromptu parties are parties of the best kind. Hope Scout adores being 4!

The best kind of party! How sweet are the lolly bags and cake topper. I feel something similar for my soon to be four little miss x
