Eat This Drink This – BBQ Peach Skewers and Pale Ale

March 1, 2019

BBQ peach skewers

Happy Friday lovely people,

SO! I have been toying with the idea of introducing a new series here on the blog, I mean – it’s been a while since I actually updated any of my current ones but you know…

I thought about doing date night ideas but I was only coming up with recipes; apparently all a good date is to me, is a good feed. So eat this, drink this, food and drink ideas for your date night at home was born.

I’m sorry in advance if you have a refined palette and are very up on the fashionable or highbrow foods of this world, I also feel the need to let you know that you’re probably in the wrong corner of the internet (see fairy bread cupcakes if you need further convincing.) This is not going to be anything like that. But if you do have that sort of knowledge, feel free to school me. Please?

This, my friends, is just a bit of fun. A snack and a drink idea to make your Friday afternoons a bit special-er than the others. Because really, who could be assed leaving the house if you don’t have to?

BBQ Peach Skewers – with halloumi and chorizo

Ingredients

  • One small block of halloumi
  • One peach
  • Two chorizo sausages
  • Olive oil
  • BBQ skewers (not an actual ingredient)

Directions

Try to cut all of the ingredients into similarly sized bits, use the diameter of the sausage as a guide. Pop them in a bowl with olive oil and toss to coat. String them on your skewer and pop them on a pan or the BBQ, turning every three minutes or so.

Pour a beer (we had Capital Brewing Pale Ale) and when your skewer looks all brown and edible, go for it. Best enjoyed while watching kids jump their bikes over homemade ramps in the backyard.
