Five little iPhone apps to make your photos rad-tastic and fabulous. Curious? Obvs.
Each year I do a post on my five favourite photo editing apps at the time, first there was Five Great iPhone Editing Apps, and then there was Five More Great iPhone Editing Apps - both got amazing feedback from you all. It reminds me that not everyone lives in Instagram world like me and not everyone has trouble sleeping the night before a big app release. A lot of people (who live in the real world) think, 'I wonder how how she makes her pictures look like that – and then move on with their life or maybe eat some food that they didn't even photograph first.
That's why I'm here, want to know my current favourite iPhone and iPad photo-editing apps?
This time round it's not just about editing your pics, I have also included some that are really just for a bit of fun – animal heads, cute messages, stop animation, you know, just a regular Saturday night.
vscocam (pictured above)
Are you one of those people who always see #vsco under a pic on Instagram and wonder what the hell it means? Well, it means the pic was edited and maybe even taken with this amazing app. With vsco you can take, tweak, filter and share pictures – and it was my absolute favourite photo editing app until really recently. One of the things that separates this app is the ability to import and export your pictures without the quality turning crap. And the filters are all adjustable too. It is basically just the bomb. #vscophile #vscolover #vscoforever

Little Moments by Fat Mum Slim
Sorry vsco cam, move over please, make room for the one, the amazing Little Moments, let me count the ways…. Ok, so apart from the fact that the release of this app cemented my desire to be Fat Mum Slim when I grow up (your own rad-tastic app anyone?) It has the BEST filters ever, you can tweak your pics and you can also add pre designed graphics, your own text and it reminds you every day to join in on the #fmsphotoaday challenge (Shout out to my lovely sister in law Lozziechops for NEVER missing a day!) Then you can share it straight to Instagram with a handy little pre written out message with the day's prompt, the relevant hashtag and all the rest. So cool.
Price : $2.49
Another great app by the girls from A Beautiful Mess, (their first app made last years fave list) – this is really just a bit of fun. You can use it to take a series of pictures and then either make film strip style collages or turn it into a little stop animation video. And for all you nerds out there you can save said stop animation as a .GIF or a video which is pretty cool. Then of course you can add filters, vintage film style boarders simple boarders and share it to all you social stuff. You have to take the pictures in the app though so no #latergramming with it.
Price: 99c
This is the perfect app for someone who wants to digitally scrapbook their pregnancy, birth, family life and kidlets. There are 11 categories of artwork (think pregnancy, first year, moments, adoption, Father's Day etc) with over 300 little stamps to choose from. There are lots of rad colours and funky hand-drawn typography, it is very sweet. The basic purchase range is huge but they always release new stamp packs so if you're a sucker for in app purchasing then just choose the 'buy all' option – you get a 40 per cent discount and buy all the future releases too.
Price: $6.49 (yikes but hey, I have had sandwiches more expensive so – perspective)
For bloggers, hipsters and 9-year-olds. I LOVE this app. It has 40 animal faces to choose from so you can lion bomb your pictures, what's not to love? It is basically just an app that lets you put a chosen animal face on top of your pictures, they can be resized and tilted and then you can laugh your ass off. Look, I never claimed my favourite apps were mature or actually useful. It's just fun. Oh, and the filters are surprisingly cool.

Also, why not also, maybe check out my favourite people to follow in Instagram or my post on photographic vignettes; it explains what they are, why they are so popular on instagram and how to create and share them.

Awesome collection. Will definitely be checking out Party Party & Obaby. Love FMS Little Moments 🙂
Love this! I am new to Instagram so I’m definitely going to check these out, thanks:-)
Oh I love the animal face one, hilarious!!! And I’ve never seen the Obaby app either, looks great even for the price x
OMG that animals face is GOLD – must get that on my phone STAT. Am a big fan of Chantelle’s app, thanks for sharing you wisdom!
Wow, love the sound of Obaby!
I am still filthy that Little Moments isn’t on Android (YET!) but how cool is that animal faces app, I hope that one is on Android as my kids would love it!
I love vscocam, but will have to check the Little Moments app!
Great list. I have little moments. Love the look of the rest. Thanks
The animal face app! It is amazing, great round up. Thank you!
I don’t like spending money on apps, but I do love Little Moments. It’s my go to app these days.
I don’t either but then I remember how much I hemorrhage for groceries each week and it makes me ok with it. I am loving it so much!
No worries, it’s good for a bit of a laugh but there are only so many animal face pics you can instagram!
No probs, thanks so much for dropping by xoxo
Do it, I also love VSCO but my phone is always full and Little Moments will still let me take pics, VSCO won’t even import them! lol I should just delete some pics.
I always get hate from Android users when I post these lists, thanks for not taking it out on me ; ) I am iPhone all the way, it is just too easy with the Mac laptop and ipad.
Such a good idea but a bit up there in price xoxo
hahaha, I am wise, aren’t I (made much funnier by the fact that I just spelled wise with a z before my best friend the little red line pulled me up)
I think so, really, it cost’s more in petrol to drive to the shops than to buy this app, but paying that much for an app is a bit of an odd feeling.
Welcome to your new obsession!
Party Party is so much fun! Thanks so much for dropping by xoxo
Awesome post Babs, there are a couple there I don’t have yet but will be downloading as soon as I get off my ass and grab my phone! Especially that animal head one, it totally appeals to the 9 year old in me! Have you checked out the Face Juggler app? Now there is a shitload of immature photo fun to be had!
