20 Things I’m pretty sure I won’t regret on my deathbed

July 16, 2014

When I start to think that maybe I’m doing life wrong, I just apply Ye OIde Deathbed test, and so long as I think I will be cool with my decisions when circling the drain. I run with it. Here are 20 things I’m not going to bother changing.

Deathbed Test - by Patchwork Cactus Blog

I'm not a stressy lady, it is rare that I actually loose sleep over things. When I do start to dwell on something I just apply a simple test.; Will the memory of this make me happy or regretful on my deathbed? I have decided that when my time comes (I really hope I'm eating stinky cheese and drinking a thick red wine) the listed items below will either evoke a toothless grin or be completely absent in my final thoughts. So I probably shouldn't worry at all about trying to change them right? Here are the things I will not regret so therefore, I accept are not worth battling over or worrying about.

1) Having a house that wasn't always (ok never) perfectly neat and tidy. 2) Spending lots of money travelling and studying. 3) Not taking my nail polish off until it is chipped past all recognition. 4) Skipping bathtime with the kids every so often. 5) Never putting the washing away as soon as it's done. 6) Saying no to a social occasion because I couldn't be assed. 7) Letting my kids sleep in our bed because that's where they want to be. 8) Spelling things wrong. 9) Watching crappy TV shows. 10) Time sucking craft sessions. 11) Messy hair. 12) Making my morning coffee festive. 13) Not forcing preschool on my toddler who doesn't want to go. 14) Reading the same book 30 times. 15) Not shaving my legs much. 16) Taking time off work to stay at home with my kids. 17) Letting my toddler go to music class in her undies when it's 35 degrees outside. 18) Never managing to keep up with the Joneses. 19) Never even attempting to. 20) Never actually giving a flying crap about the Joneses.

Whats on your list?
