I have discovered the trick to folding cardboard perfectly every time, without making weird creases in it. I know right? Tackling all the big issues today.
I'm addressing all the big issues today. Seriously, my Research and Reporting tutor would be so proud, hi Jenny…sorry.
Anyway, I got some of my designs printed onto cards, and they turned out really well but when I went to fold them I realised that I had no idea how to fold cardboard without creasing it. Three cards in I decided that I was going to have to consult the interwebs.
I found lots of people who gave lots of advice that either a) involved tools made out of bone that I don't own, or b) was bloody stupid and didn't work. So I got a bit creative and figured it out myself. Want to know how?
A ruler
A wooden BBQ skewer
A Pen
Directions
Pop the ruler where you want the fold to be and run the BBQ skewer down the length of the ruler, pressing pretty hard, three times. Now turn the card over (you should be able to see the dent on the other side) and pop the ruler in the right place and do the same thing again. Now gently fold the card, it should automatically crease in the right place. To finish up just run a clean pen down the crease.
There you go, hope this changes your life.
