How do you make cheap nailpolish last longer?

How to make your cheap nailpolish last longer

BEAUTY TIP BY PATCHWORK CACTUS blog - CLEAR NAILPOLISH

I used to change my colour so much that I didn't actually care if my manis only lasted a week. Now that I have two kids I want to paint them once and leave it on for a few months (joking…kinda) I used to love cheap nailpolish. I couldn't commit to one colour for long enough to invest $30 in a bottle, even though I knew it was better for my nails and it would last longer. So I came up with this answer to help my cheap nail polish last longer.

Now I spend good money on a really swanky top and bottom coat so I can keep using my stupidly huge collection of chemist colours. It's worth the $22 ladies!

I have long nails for the first time in my life – gel nails! Loving them! First time I’ve ever bothered with nail polish!

Thanks for the tip – any idea how I can stop my thumb nail from splitting in the middle – no matter what I do it keeps doing it!

Thanks for the tip. I go a bit nail polish mad sometimes, when I see a new cool colour. My finger nails are a bit shocking at the moment, but my toes are always getting the full treatment.

Now that i’m not at work i have started painting my nails again, there was no point when i was working as they chipped too easily. I have a decent sized collection of OPI, i went a bit nuts at Sephora in Las Vegas & they were $9 a bottle there. I’ll have to give their Start to Finish a try.

Thanks for the comments guys, Emily, so weird! My thumb nail also splits. If you put a dab of super glue on the top of the nail when it is short and after it dries buff the face smooth. Then it will hold together while it grows. It look normal painted then. No idea how to stop the spli though.

I go OPI Base and Top coat but there are also some really awesome gel top coats – they take a while to dry but last for a really long time!
