Unisex kid’s style

October 24, 2013

Unisex kid's style

Good morning radtastic people. Thanks for popping by! I am all about unisex clothing, toys and decor right now so I thought I would share some lovely items on my wishlist.

I have one boy and one girl, she is two, he is four months and the way things are going they will be sharing clothes soon. I keep him in mind when buying clothes for her. It's not like I dress her like a boy or anything, but if there are two pairs of purple skinny jeans and one has a heart on the pocket and the other doesn't, I go for the latter. It only makes sense – and it means you can justify spending a tad more if that's what floats your boat.

Call me old fashioned (although that's about the last thing anyone calls me) but I also think kids should have to share stuff, not everything, but a decent chunk. Sharing is a good skill to nurture. My lovelies will be sharing a bedroom, as soon as I can bare to part with my tiny squooshy, so I am really aware of keeping things more on the side of gender neutral and less in the princess-and-trucks-world.

Happy Thursday

Yay for unisex stuff! I have a bit of a hate for what i call ‘pink-princessy-crap’ & as munchkin just had her 1st birthday the house is full of her pink presents. As you said, i’m not trying to dress her like a boy but i prefer more gender neutral colours & patterns. I have bought her many ‘boys’ clothes because i think dinosaurs & cars are pretty cool. I know eventually she may decide she wants everything to be pink & sparkly & i’ll have to learn to cope with that. I only recently realised i haven’t bought her a doll yet. My mum had me playing with gender neutral toys & Tonka trucks & barbies were a no-no in our house. Oh, no! I’ve turned into my mum.
