I'm in the process of a huge wardrobe cull, blogging about said cull counts at progress right? I started with a hangover because I have a much lower tolerance of stuff when I'm hungover. And clothes are stuff – I wanted to make good use of my brutal.
I was channeling a few lovely bloggy type ladies. Nikki was on one shoulder saying, does it make you feel fab? Ronnie was reminding me that she threw out almost her whole wardrobe and started a fresh. Jodie was telling me that the more stuff you own, the more it owns you and that famous de clutterer lady was asking, does it bring you joy?
And I was thinking about my uniform. You see, this stay at home, work at home, basically never leave the house lifestyle has turned me into a bit of a lazy dresser. I didn't even realise that the lack of 'work clothes' meant my everyday attire was getting worn out much quicker and I was wearing stuff with actual holes in it.
And then there was the thing where I was fussing and swapping outfits and making a mess of my bulging drawers EVERY time I tried to get dressed. just to end up wearing a plain tee, denim and Birkenstocks. My uniform, and it's a good one.
So I sat on the floor, with all my ladies cheering me on and offering advice, and emptied drawers, brutally culling. Reminding myself that I neither have the bone structure or the will power to return to a size 8, was NEVER going to mend that, wear that or have an occasion for that. And also that the abundance of Lulu Lemon in my closet means I don't need oversized old tees to work out in. And that fact that I don't actually work out also seemed relevant.
Then I consulted my style board on Pinterest and she told me that I had matured past a lot of my clothes so I culled some more. There was such a definite theme in what I pin. White, black, denim, leopard print, stripes and statement pieces. The basics of any great wardrobe. So made the above moodboard to guide my 'uniform' purchases. Then I blogged.
The end.
p.s Then I read this post and realised that it actually deserved to be in my Finding Organisation Series and gave my self a high five for accidentally remembering to keep contributing to this series.

I love a good wardrobe cull. If I didn’t wear it last season then its highly unlikely I will wear it the next season so off to charity it goes! Just feels great – making room for new and exciting purchases haha!

I filled 6 garbage bags with clothes to take to the Salvos & I still have more to get rid of. I find myself wearing the same 10 or so items so the rest just takes up precious storage space so I really should just ditch them all. Those bras are gorgeous! I’ve been living in ugly uncomfortable $3 Kmart ones for ages-I must treat myself to something pretty.
