Hello, happy Sunday.
I hope you have has a lovely one. I started the day with an (almost) 5K run with my next door neighbour. Ok, a run/walk. It felt good. After it had finished feeling awful. To be able to run 5k was one of my goals for this year, I think I’ll be doing it without having to stop really soon.
*Edit This article was written in November and I did, in fact, work my way up to 5k by Christmas. Once I reached my goal I literally never went for a run again, I did it and realised that running is shit. But I did it.
Prioritising time to exercise has been the biggest change I have made lately. I don’t love running out the door the second hubby gets home but it’s what has to happen if I want to work out.
No excuses. Just straightened my hair? Suck it up. You do your hair to appease your vanity. Working out serves that purpose so much better.
The kids haven’t had a bath yet? They will live.
House is a mess? It will still be a mess when you get home and if it’s not… wahoo!
I’m just trying to take my own advice from this post all about spreading myself thicker. Just really focusing on what I want and making it happen. After I wrote that post a few people asked if I would turn it into a printable for you guys. So I did. I’m nice like that.
Jokes! But seriously, if you’re still putting everyone and everything before yourself, you should probably have a think about that – it’s not healthy at all and you matter lots. Give yourself some love.

5km is fantastic! Even back it my fit gym bunny days I couldn’t manage 5km! I need to exercise more-I’ve gained 11kg this year (I’m so mad at myself) and as I’ve tried explaining to hubby-this isn’t just a vanity thing-I want to be a healthy role model for munchkin & I want to be around for as long as possible. I used to pop her in the pram & go walking for up to 2 hours a day but now I’d be lucky to get her to stay in it for 15 minutes which isn’t long enough & she isn’t old enough to run/walk with me for long enough for me to get any real physical benefits. I’ll have to try to convince hubby to watch her for long enough for me to get out there on my own. Wish me luck!

5kms…legend! You’re so right about taking the time to prioritise done exercise. The world won’t end if you take an hour to yourself. I’ve been going 5 mornings a week to the gym, some days are tough but once it’s done…it’s done 😀
